FAQs

eke buy back

How does the buy back programme work?

It's pretty simple - when your whānau is finished with your eke clothing, you can return it to us in any condition for a $5 eke voucher per item.

We’re working on a customer portal, but for now, send an email to hello@ekeclothing.com and we’ll send you return shipping and sort you out with a code you can use on your next purchase.

Do I have to pay for shipping when I return my used eke clothing?

Nope, you will be emailed the shipping label for return. You will need to attach this to your package of eke clothing and drop it at your local NZ post shop.

Can I return clothing that is stained or damaged for a voucher?

Yes you can! We fully close the loop on eke clothing so even if you send back items that are too well-loved to pass on to the next pēpi, we'll recycle them.

What happens to my used eke clothing once returned?

We are saving up good quality second hand clothing to launch a lower-priced second hand eke store. If your returned eke clothing is so well loved that it is too worn for resale, we’re collecting it for textile recycling.

Why do you have a buy back programme?

"Approximately 74 thousand tonnes of clothing are consumed in Aotearoa New Zealand each year, and every year 52 thousand tonnes are sent to landfill". Mindful Fashion Threads of Tomorrow Report, published in 2024.

As producers of clothing, we take responsibility for the items we create, not just during manufacturing, but also during use and afterwards too. We create timeless, durable affordable and sustainable baby clothing, designed to endure long term use, but we know that clothing wears out. Especially with adventurous babies getting to know their world.

Through our buy back programme, we aim to reduce the impact of the clothing we create on the environment, and in the process, make it easier for you to reduce your impact too.

Can I use my eke vouchers from the buy back all in one go?

Yes, you sure can! For example, if you return 3 items, you will get 3x $5 eke vouchers. You can then use them towards your next purchase taking $15 off the total order price whether you're getting one item or a bunch of things.

general questions

Where is eke clothing manufactured?

eke clothing is made in India using organic cotton. To date, all clothing has been made by using up leftover deadstock fabrics sourced through our supplier, which we think is pretty cool. The manufacturer we work with has the following accreditations: Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS), Sedex (fair working standards) and Standard 100 by OEKO-TEX®.

What’s your returns policy?

Whether you’ve changed your mind or there’s an issue with your eke clothing, we want to hear about it. Here is our returns policy, we’ll replace or refund depending on the situation.

Why doesn't my garment have a swing tag?

We like to keep things simple. Swing tags are used in stores to attach prices for shoppers. As a 100% online store, we simply don't need them. Plus, it helps us to reduce costs and our environmental impact.

Do you work with content creators?

Yes! We love working with content creators. If you are interested in working with us, send an email to hello@ekeclothing.com and we can give you some more details. You don’t need to have a huge following to meet our criteria - let’s talk and see if we could be a good fit for your platform.
